I am a native German living now for 31 years in Japan. The last 25 years I made my family's living on freelance translation. Beside that, I acquired the Japanese licences for acupuncture and am running my own little clinic since 15 years.
Pertaining to translation, I consider myself specialized in fields like medicine, engineering, chemistry etc. and accept work from a wide range of fields.

The usual rates in Japan are:
J-G ca. 3500 Yen per 160 words in target language
J-E ca. 3200 Yen per 180 words in target language
E-G ca. 3000-3500 Yen per 160/180 words in target language.
